A Cultural evening at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Dublin and a charity exhibition at the “AZBUKA” school with the participation of Sofia Vankova
This Saturday, March 29, 2025, Sofia was an active participant in two events. The day began with the charity exhibition at the “AZBUKA” school where she presented, together with her teacher Juliana Mihaylova, watercolors painted over the last 5 years during their online lessons. The audience’s interest was aroused by the method in which the two work together – a common idea on which they paint, but a completely different result.
The event was opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivo Popov from the Department of “Arts and Design” of the New Bulgarian University and Ms. Radost Stefanova – Director of the school. In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Popov focused on the relationship and continuity between teacher and student in the visual arts, while Ms. Stefanova emphasized the importance of discipline and creativity.
Later, the event moved to the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Dublin, where a cultural evening “Sineva” was held. The participants were welcomed by Her Excellency, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Ireland, Ms. Vanya Andreeva-Malakova and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivo Popov, lecturer in the Department of Arts and Design of the New Bulgarian University.
Ambassador Andreeva presented the young talents in fine arts, music and dance, listing their numerous achievements. An interesting highlight were the Ambassador’s questions to the children about their talents, the challenges they face and their future plans.
The exhibition part included:
- Paintings (watercolor) on various themes, created over the past 5 years, during online drawing lessons by Sofia Vankova and Juliana Mihaylova;
- Art lamps made in the studio of Ralitsa Popova;
- Jewelry made of semi-precious stones made by Tatyana Mineva.
Special guests of the event contributed to the good mood:
- Dance couple – classical dances David Germanov and Doula Wang – multiple winners in the category of sports and Latin dances
- Gabriela Ivanova – vocal performance – winner of many awards
- Tatyana Mineva – closed the event with the Tibetan Sound Ceremony
Guests of the event were representatives of the Bulgarian community in Ireland, the “AZBUKA” School, the Wojtek Potaszkin Dance Academy, and others.
